A variety of other scholarships exist for law enforcement members and their family
National University – National University offers a unique scholarship for law enforcement employees in which the employee receives a guaranteed 25 percent off tuition for approved coursework.The Law Enforcement Educational Services Scholarship is intended for employees of law enforcement agencies nationwide who have the goal of earning an associate’s, bachelor’s, or master’s degree or academic certification.
PORAC- Each year, PORAC is honored to provide a Scholarship Program, which is available to the dependents of our active & retired members and the spouse or dependent of an active member who died in the line of duty. Members who have medically retired from a regular PORAC association are eligible for the scholarship as well. PORAC’s Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to applicants who are attending or will be registering for college. More information and application available online.
California Alarm Association The CAA/ESA Youth Scholarship Program offers $27,000 in funds to children of active duty law enforcement and fire service personnel in the State of California who are graduating from high school. There are 11 regional awards, one statewide award, and two national awards.
CLEA CLEA provides four scholarships each year to high school and college students who are dependents of DSA members who have been enrolled in the LTD Plan for at least one year. Applications and information available online
National Alliance of Law Enforcement Support The scholarship provides financial assistance for the higher educational needs of the children (natural or adopted) of law enforcement officers. Application and information available online.

CALIFORNIA PEACE OFFICERS’ MEMORIAL FOUNDATION JOHN F. DUFFY SCHOLARSHIP/GRANT PROGRAM Dependents of California peace officers who have died in the line of duty are eligible to receive annual scholarships from the California Peace Officers’ Memorial Foundation. Dependents of California officers who have died in the line-of-duty, regardless of how long ago, are eligible for the scholarships. Entries for the school year must be received by June 1.
